Our Teacher Training

The following is a brief overview of our course in
Orton Gillingham basic skills. 

We are now taking applications for our 2023 training cohort!

30 hour Course in the Basics of Evidence Based Reading Instruction and Orton Gillingham

  • Teachers learn effective, Orton-Gillingham based strategies and activities to use with intervention groups.

  • Completed in 5 modules across the pillars of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension.

  • Flexible Scheduling: can be held during one full week in the summer or during the school year in a monthly workshop model.

  • Cost: Contact us for information

  • Time Frame: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 3:30pm, during 1 week in June

  • *this course does not lead to Orton-Gillingham certification

Orton-Gillingham Basic Skills Training with Supervised Practicum
 

  • 45 hours of collegiate-level coursework (credits available from Keene State College).

  • Monthly classes conducted on Saturdays either in-person or through videoconferencing.

  • 60 hour supervised practicum completed with observations and direct support for lesson planning.

  • Meets requirements to apply for national certification through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA).

  • Small group cohort allows for personalized instruction.
